In addition, Sunrise Luciol is continuing the development of the High Resolution OTDR. Our unique technology is based on single-photon counting, which enables the detection of light with the highest sensitivity allowed by the laws of physics. This technology is well known in research laboratories around the world, mainly in basic research. It has not been exploited for telecom applications in optical fibres. It is fair to say that the telecom world has yet to appreciate the advantage brought about by photon counting. The extensive know-how on this technology represents the competitive edge of Luciol.
